Where is the Champions Classic this year? Location, schedule, history of college basketball event
The college basketball season gets well and truly underway Tuesday night in Atlanta with the 2024 edition of the Champions Classic.
This year's rendition of the Champions Classic will consist of matchups between No. 1 Kansas vs. Michigan State and No. 5 Duke vs. No. 23 Kentucky.
The one-night double-header event features three of the top four all-time winningest college basketball programs in the country, with Kansas at No. 1 at 2,409 wins. Kentucky and Duke follow the Jayhawks at No. 2 and No. 4 respectively at 2,401 wins and 2,301.
Tuesday will also be the first time Duke star freshman forward and the No. 1 expected pick in the NBA draft Cooper Flagg will play in front of a national audience in primetime. Last year's Champions Classic, saw Duke and Kansas improve their all-time Champions Classic record to 8-5.

Where is the Champions Classic?
Location: State Farm Arena (Atlanta)
The Champions Classic is taking place this year at State Farm Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks, in Atlanta. As noted by its website, State Farm Arena, which opened in 1999, has a capacity of 16,888.
Who competes in the Champions Classic?
The Champions Classic each year is made up of four of college basketball's "blue blood" programs: Duke, Kansas, Kentucky and Michigan State.

History of Championship Classic: Past games
The first Champions Classic took place in 2011 in New York City at Madison Square Garden, with No. 6 Duke defeating Michigan State 74-69 and No. 2 Kentucky defeating No. 11 Kansas 75-65.
Since the inaugural Champions Classic, the four-team event has been played every single inside the same NBA arena aside from the 2020 COVID-19 season, when Michigan State-Duke played at Cameron Indoor Stadium and Kansas-Kentucky played at then-called Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
