Leeds United have “absolutely no chance” of re-signing Archie Gray in the January transfer window, according to former Whites goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

The 18-year-old has found Premier League opportunities limited since leaving the Whites for Tottenham Hotspur in a £40m deal back in the summer. Gray has started six times in the cup competitions this term but all five of his top flight appearances have come from off the bench.

A number of clubs, including United, are reportedly interest in taking Gray on loan in the New Year. Spanish club Sevilla and Leicester City are also said to be big admirers of the England Under-21 international.

On the possibility of Gray returning to Elland Road next year, Robinson told Football Insider: “Absolutely no chance. He’s only just signed for Tottenham.

“His Tottenham career is going exactly according to plan as to what Ange Postecoglou would have wanted. He wasn’t a player that was going to come in, start every game, he’s a very young player he’s got huge potential and he’s already shown that he’s got a great talent.

“He’s been given opportunities in the European games. He’s played at centre-back, he’s played at right-back, played in midfield, and it will take you time to bed into a club like Tottenham.

“Archie Gray’s Tottenham career is exactly on track for where everybody expected and wanted it to be. Again, it’s just kite-flying journalism.”

Gray earned his move to North London after playing an integral part in United's run to the Championship play-off final last year.
