Santa Claus presented Celtic's players with the Premiership trophy earlier today as they won three-in-a-row.

The Hoops stars managed a 3-2 win over St Mirren on the day for the party to begin in front of a packed out 60,000 plus supporters in a sea of green and white. It was a bizarre scene, to say the least, as Jolly old Saint Nick emerged from the tunnel at full-time clutching the silverware in his grasp while in full regalia complete with hat and big bushy white beard.

Brave for a scorching mid-May afternoon, maybe, but why was the big man the one to place the trophy on the podium for Callum McGregor and co. to hold aloft?

Fans may remember why. Back in December as Brendan Rodgers' side were going through one of the rougher patches of their season, they found themselves 2-0 down at home to Hearts.

Lawrence Shankland and Stephen Kingsley had netted to stun the fans into silence that December 16 afternoon.

And when Santa arrived to spread festive "cheer" at half-time, the crowd shocked Kris Kringle as they mercilessly BOOED him off the pitch.

Father Christmas even lost his wig on an afternoon to forget but all was forgiven this afternoon.
