Wight Wolves finish second in tournament with only five players
An Isle of Wight rugby team finished second in a tournament, despite only having five players.
On Sunday, October 27, the Wight Wolves embarked on an adventure with only five players, including a novice.
They joined forces with Fordingbridge RFC, totalling nine players, a team that had never played together before.
The team had an impressive start against New Milton, with Ace scoring the first try of the tournament within minutes.
The Wolves won 6-1.
They then faced Gosport & Fareham, securing a 4-1 victory. However, the Wolves struggled against Andover, losing 2-0.
The combined team implemented new offensive strategies in the game against Farnborough and Salisbury, resulting in a 5-0 win.
Wolves player Flora said: "It was my first touch tournament and I really enjoyed it. The game was fast paced and technical, but all the players are really nice and make playing with and against them even more enjoyable."
The last match against Winchester, the home team, saw the Wolves secure a 2-0 victory.
