Wolves' Matt Doherty has been summoned to the Republic of Ireland squad after three players were ruled out due to injury for the upcoming Nations League matches.

The Football Association of Ireland announced that Doherty, along with Southampton's Ryan Manning and Everton's Jake O’Brien, will join the team for this week's games against Finland and England.

This comes after Doherty, 32, voiced his disappointment at being overlooked by manager Heimir Hallgrimsson in October, when centre-back Andrew Omobamidele was chosen over him for the Greece match.
