Wrexham fans have been left angry after the kick-off times of several upcoming fixtures were changed to accommodate Sky Sports coverage.

The broadcaster has announced its latest EFL TV picks for January and February and the Red Dragons will have their games screened live on five occasions as they fight for promotion to the Championship.

However, the amendments to their League One schedule have not proved popular with supporters of the club owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

It comes as big clashes against promotion rivals Birmingham City and local adversaries Shrewsbury Town are among those which have been shifted.

Wrexham were originally meant to face Birmingham at the Racecourse on Saturday, January 25 at 3pm, but the game has been moved forward to Thursday, January 23 and given an 8pm kick-off time.

Likewise, Phil Parkinson's side's away tie at Shrewsbury was previously earmarked for 3pm on Saturday, January 18, but will now take place on Thursday, January 16 at 8pm.

Another match on the road at Mansfield which was meant to take place on a Saturday has been pushed back by a day to Sunday, 23 February and will start at 3pm.

Meanwhile, kick-off times for two further away fixtures at Reading on Saturday, January 11 and Northampton Town on Saturday, February 15 have been brought forward from 3pm to 12.30pm.

Posting on X, formerly Twitter, Wrexham supporter Owen Roberts hit out at Sky over the alterations.

He said: "Their selections going into the new year weren't that bad but these are just awful. Just scrap the blackout and allow these to be 3pm on a Saturday."

One of the club's international fans said: "I have a plane ticket from the US to see the Birmingham match - now the match is moved to before I arrive." Another supporter simply said: "4 away days ruined there."

The matches that have been chosen will be shown on either Sky Sports+ or Sky Sports Football.
