Aaron Ramsdale looks likely to leave Arsenal this summer with Newcastle the team showing a strong interest in a transfer. Following the arrival of David Raya, Ramsdale lost his spot in the starting XI back in October and he has since made just two Premier League appearances with both of those arriving against Raya's loan club Brentford.

Chelsea were linked with a move for the England international in the January transfer window, however it is now Newcastle in pole position for his signature. Despite the summer window not opening for another few weeks, numerous claims on Ramsdale's future have been made with the man himself even issuing an update.

Mikel Arteta may not want to lose the 26-year-old but his desire for first-team minutes could be too strong. While the Magpies employ his England colleague Nick Pope, he has dealt with several injury concerns and at 32 he is not getting any younger.

With that in mind, football.london has pulled together the latest rumours surrounding Ramsdale's future at Arsenal.

Arsenal exit hint

One of Ramsdale's Arsenal colleagues has dropped a huge hint that he may not be at the club next season. On Instagram, the goalkeeper posted a video of himself opening a gift from women's team defender Lotte Wubben-Moy.

Part of her message, as seen below, reads: "gutted I won't get you see you in these at the training ground."

£15m move

Arsenal's Ramsdale asking price is currently unknown, however Newcastle appear to have prepared their first offer. According to The Telegraph, it is thought Newcastle are willing to pay around £15 million for Ramsdale, with the offer of a five-year contract.

Ramsdale response

Following the suggestion he had reached an agreement to join Newcastle, Ramsdale appeared to send an indirect response on social Media.

Posting to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote: "News to me [laughing face emoji]."

Newcastle 'agreement'

Speaking on The Highbury Squad, Sky Sports reporter James Green revealed what he had been told on the Ramsdale situation and the suggested agreement with Newcastle. “I understand that Aaron Ramsdale has agreed to join Newcastle in the summer,” Green said.

“That’s come direct through somebody speaking to somebody I’m close with who is close with his agent and he says it’s done, the deal is happening.

“I don’t think that will come as a surprise to many Arsenal fans if I’m being honest. I think the writing was on the wall, it was going to happen, he can’t sit there and be a backup goalkeeper he was too good for that.

“He was always going to go on to pastures new and I saw a few reports, a few other journalists talking about a backup to Raya this week and what goalkeepers might come in. The likes of Jason Steele at Brighton were mentioned and I think he’d actually be a very good number two.”
