Arsenal get crucial Benjamin Sesko transfer update as lucrative offer made

Benjamin Sesko

RB Leipzig have made a huge Benjamin Sesko decision amid strong transfer interest from the Premier League. The Slovenia international scored on the final day of the Bundesliga season earlier this weekend with the fierce strike his eighteenth goal of the season.

Arsenal are among a number of English clubs, including Chelsea and Tottenham, on the hunt for a new forward. football.london understands Arsenal are in the market for a dynamic centre-forward with Sesko as one player linked.

The 20-year-old is said to have a hefty release clause in his contract from when he sealed a transfer from RB Sazlburg to Germany last summer. Interest from a number of European clubs could also see his asking price increase with a bidding war possibly on the cards.

However, it is worth mentioning there is no guarantee he leaves for pastures new ahead of the 2024/25 with Leizpig doing all they can to keep him. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the German outfit have made contact with Sesko's agent in recent days to offer a new lucrative contract.

In the update he adds that it would see Sesko remain at Leipzig for another year at least with the decision solely for him to make. Viktor Gyokeres is another striker with admirers at Arsenal while the likes of Victor Osimhen, Ivan Toney and Joshua Zirkzee have all been mooted.

However, it seems to be between Sesko and Gyokeres if the Gunners are to sign a new striker with Mikel Arteta hopeful of getting deals done swiftly. "That's the ideal scenario," he said when asked if Arsenal were hopeful of getting their business done at the start of the window.

"Every club wants that, we want that as coaches and for the players especially. Then for the team and for the environment. When you do that something clicks there and it’s really important because it starts to give you momentum."

Sweden not being in this summer's European championships could help any deal for Gyokeres with Sporting CP advance fairly quickly. But the same cannot be said with Sesko as he is set to be a part of the Slovenia squad that will challenge for a spot out of group C alongside England.
