Arsenal's Premier League title decider against Everton will undoubtedly be the focus this weekend, but soon attention will fully turn to transfers. The summer window officially opens on Friday, June 14, which is coincidentally the same day the European Championship begin, with Mikel Arteta and Edu hopeful of it being a busy summer.

Ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, Arsenal spent over £200million and while a similar outlay is unlikely, the Gunners know they must strengthen in a number of key areas. In the attacking department, football.london understands Arsenal are in the market for a dynamic centre-forward with Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee potentially as one option.

A new update on his future in Italy has now emerged with the Gunners perhaps more likely to enquire over his availability. While supporters are hopeful of incomings, some first-team exits are certainly a given with Mohamed Elneny already confirming he will depart the club at the end of this season.

Aaron Ramsdale is another that could leave after he lost his place as the No.1 goalkeeper following the arrival of David Raya. Talk of a move being agreed with Newcastle for the 26-year-old came to light on Friday, however a huge update has since emerged from the man himself.

Here, football.london takes a look at the latest Arsenal transfer rumours with a fresh perspective provided on the trending stories.

Ramsdale responds to Newcastle 'agreement'

Newcastle would certainly be a good club for Ramsdale to rediscover his best form, which is why it was not necessarily surprising to learn of the most recent update.

“I understand that Aaron Ramsdale has agreed to join Newcastle in the summer,” Sky Sports reporter James Green said on The Highbury Squad. “That’s come direct through somebody speaking to somebody I’m close with who is close with his agent and he says it’s done, the deal is happening."

Ramsdale was having none of that though as he seemed to send an indirect response to those rumours. On X, he wrote: "News to me" with a laughing emoji.

football.london says: "It did seem a tad premature to suggest Ramsdale had agreed to join Newcastle with the season still ongoing and the summer window not open until this time next month.

"It certainly seems feasible for Ramsdale to join the Magpies and it would be a move that would suit both parties, but knowing Arteta and Edu it is very likely a replacement will be lined up first. Negotiating a price could be a difficult part of the deal though with his stock likely to be lower following a season of minimal minutes."

Zirkzee transfer update

Arsenal have been handed a further incentive to pursue a deal for Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee. The Netherlands international has contributed to 19 goals in 37 appearances this season with fellow Premier League side Manchester United having also shown a keen interest.

Former club Bayern Munich appeared to hold the advantage if they pushed for his return with a clause agreed upon in his move to Italy, however it could be a level playing field following the newest update. As per Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Zirkzee could be available for just £34million this summer.

football.london says: "Arsenal may have their priorities elsewhere but this move should at least be looked at by Arteta and Edu. Getting a player of Zirkzee's quality at such a price would be a huge coup even if he does not earn a starting spot.

"As Pep Guardiola has proven, having at least two quality options in every area of the pitch is vital and if Arsenal want to consistently compete, these are the kind of deals they should be looking to agree. There is of course every chance the 22-year-old is not keen on playing a background role. However, as has already been proven, if Arteta wants a player, he often gets his way."
