Curtis Jones could be set for a busy summer, with his first senior international tournament potentially in the offing. It would cap off what has been a momentous few weeks for the Liverpool midfielder.

Jones has been named in England’s provisional squad for Euro 2024. Gareth Southgate has named four Reds stars in total, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez joining him in the 33-man squad, while Jarell Quansah has also been called up for the first time.

There’s no place for Harvey Elliott, despite a fine season for the 21-year-old. Nevertheless, Jones will be eyeing up his Three Lions debut and a place on the plane to Germany this summer.

The 23-year-old was a vital member of the England U21 side that won last summer’s European Championship in Georgia. Having made 36 appearances for Liverpool this season, he has now been rewarded with a first call-up to the senior squad.

Southgate will cut his squad down to 26 before the tournament, meaning Jones’ place at the tournament is not yet assured. Should he make his way to Germany though, his partner will likely be there to watch him in action.

Jones has been with Saffie Khan for some time, and the pair announced just last week that they are expecting their first child together. They made the announcement in an emotional Instagram post, which showed the moment Saffie informed Jones of the good news.

The video ended with the message 'to our baby girl' accompanied by the song Photograph by Ed Sheeran, with Jones congratulated by a number of his Liverpool teammates.

Jones will hope his new family can follow him to Germany this summer. Regardless of whether he makes the final squad or not though, he can almost certainly expect more chances with England in the future.

Liverpool.com says: It's already been quite the summer for Jones and his partner with the great news about their first baby. What a way it would be to cap it off if he can also earn a place with the England squad at the Euros.
