Jefte looks set to become Rangers' first summer capture as the Brazilian left-back prepares to jet into Glasgow.

The 20-year-old has been a long-term target for Philippe Clement and looked set to join the Ibrox club in January. Gers had agreed a deal to sign the defender from Fluminense only for his loan club APOEL to scupper it by refusing to allow him to get out of that deal early.

Now though, Jefte is finally set to land his dream move after being given the green light to fly to Scotland, where he will undergo a medical before putting pen to paper on a long-term deal.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano posted: "Rangers are set to complete deal to sign Brazilian LB Jefté, confirmed and here we go!. Understand Jefté is on his way to complete the medical tests and sign the contract as new Rangers player. As revealed in January, Scottish side prepared it all for the summer window."

Jefte could quickly be followed by Panama international Jose Cordoba as Gers look to thrash out a deal with Bulgarian side Levski Sofia. However, the Light Blues could face competition with Norwich City for his signature.
