Jeremie Frimpong sends Celtic four word message as he toasts double delight

Celtic and Bayer Leverkusen title-winner Jeremie Frimpong

Jeremie Frimpong celebrated Celtic's title win last night as the defender celebrated a personal double delight.

The former Hoops star was over the moon as Brendan Rodgers' side clinched three-in-a-row in style by thrashing Kilmarnock 5-0 at Rugby Park. Frimpong, 23, won a Treble at Parkhead before upping sticks for Bayer Leverkusen back in January 2021. But three-and-a-half years on from his time in Glasgow, the defender is still keeping close tabs on his former club.

Frimpong has emerged as one of the world's best right-backs after a stunning season in Germany, helping Xabi Alonso's side win their first-ever Bundesliga title. Unbeaten Leverkusen could also create history by storming to an Invincible Treble after reaching both the DFB-Pokal and Europa League Finals.

Even if they fall at the last hurdle, it's still been a season to remember for Frimpong and the Dutchman saluted a personal double triumph. Responding to Celtic's post on X last night, he wrote: "Both champions, love it."

Frimpong could earn Celts a fortune this summer with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal heavily linked with the pint-sized full-back. Shrewd Hoops chiefs inserted a sell-on fee into the £11m deal that took the ex-Manchester City starlet to Germany and are due 30 per cent of any future profit.
