Liverpool have reportedly lined up a move for Brentford head coach Thomas Frank should a deal with Feyenoord's Arne Slot prove impossible.

The Reds are on the search for a new manager after Jurgen Klopp announced earlier this year that he would be leaving Anfield. Xabi Alonso was immediately installed as the favourite for the upcoming vacant position but recently declared he would be remaining at Bayer Leverkusen.

Since then, Liverpool have pivoted to Slot who has enjoyed a good season in the Netherlands leading his club to KNVB Cup success and to second in the Eredivisie. While reports suggest the Reds are confident, they are wary to be caught out like Tottenham Hotspur were last summer.

Slot seemed destined to replace Antonio Conte only for him to pull out of the deal at the last moment with Ange Postecoglou being chosen as his replacement. According to TeamTalk, the Reds are a big fan of Frank and would be happy to appoint him as a 'Plan B' should it be needed.

It is understood that Liverpool have reached out to Frank's representatives to inform him of their interest but Slot remains the first choice. The Bees' Danish manager has flown under the radar but has done a magnificent job to establish Brentford as a mid-table Premier League team.

His ability to unearth and get the best out of players like; David Raya, Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbeumo has only served to increase his appeal among the Reds' hierarchy as they continue the seemingly impossible task of replacing Klopp.
