Is Richarlison fit for Tottenham vs Burnley? Injury news latest and FPL double gameweek update

Double gameweek 37 in Fantasy Premier League will kick off on Saturday lunchtime when Fulham face Manchester City at Craven Cottage, the first of two fixtures for Pep Guardiola's side in four days.

Many FPL managers will be targeting the triple figures with 13 fixtures on the agenda for the penultimate gameweek of the season. Like Man City, Tottenham, Brighton, Manchester United, Newcastle and Chelsea will all play twice over the coming days with it seen as potentially the final chance for FPL managers to catch mini-league rivals and increase their overall rank.

With just two gameweeks remaining, targeting differentials is likely to be done by many managers with Newcastle's Callum Wilson (3.1 per cent owned) one to look out for following his return from injury. The Magpies have two favourable fixtures on the agenda starting with a home clash against Brighton on Saturday before they travel to Manchester United on Wednesday evening.

Before welcoming Newcastle to Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag's side take on Arsenal with Spurs as the only club alongside United set for two home games. One of those comes against Burnley, who will be relegated if they don't win, with Man City then heading to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Significant doubts surrounding the fitness of Bruno Fernandes has seen many consider Richarlison (3.3 per cent owned) to replace him following his goal and assist off the bench against Liverpool. However, there are some concerns surrounding his fitness after a string of injury setbacks in recent weeks.

Here, has the latest on Tottenham's huge FPL differential ahead of double gameweek 37 and their matches with Burnley and Man City.

Richarlison injury latest for FPL double gameweek 37

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou was on hand to offer a positive injury update on Friday. When asked for the latest team news, he said: "Nothing from the last week." Based on that, any fears from managers interested would have likely dissipated and given them the green light to buy the forward.

With Richarlison already a trending topic, Brazil then confirmed their Copa America squad with the 27-year-old surprisingly absent from the 23-man squad. On his omission, as translated by Fabrizio Romano, national team boss Dorival Junior said: “Richarlison has not been called up for the Copa America also due to fresh injury he has suffered," he said.

“He’s not available, he had new injury and this is why he’s not in the list." With that update certainly a contrasting one to Postecoglou's, it is very unclear whether Richarlison will be fit this weekend and beyond. However it is worth noting Dorival admitted he was only told on Friday that the player had picked up a new injury and is therefore unavailable.

With it already unlikely Richarlison plays 180 minutes over the next two games, it is probably better for FPL managers to go elsewhere. Brighton's Pascal Gross (4.2 per cent owned) has become a very appealing option with Joao Pedro, the club's designated penalty taker, back on the injury list.
